MIDI Splitter
1-in 4-out MIDI thru box
MIDI Splitter is a MIDI thru box manufactured by us under our AmpTone Lab brand. It features 1 input port and 4 output (thru) ports. It allows the user to control four different MIDI devices (or even more, when combined with another MIDI Splitter unit) from one MIDI controller.
Features
The key feature of MIDI Splitter is that it can have two power sources. It can operate on standard 9V wall-wart AC/DC adapter when there's an electrical outlet available nearby or 9V battery, which makes it the ultimate portable solution.
MIDI Splitter has a status LED indicating the incoming messages, which allows the user to easily check if everything is working properly without connecting the output devices.
Messages on all 16 MIDI channels are received and then transmitted by MIDI Splitter. It processes every MIDI message coming to the input port and sends it to four output (thru) ports.
Technical info
MIDI Splitter uses an opto-isolated MIDI input. The circuitry used ensures high-quality MIDI signal, even over a long distance. It can be powered by 9V battery or 9V AC/DC adapter. Power source is chosen automatically with the power supply being a primary power source (battery is not used when power supply is plugged in).
Usage
Every MIDI controller with DIN-5 port will work with MIDI Splitter. It can be used with one of our controllers - XY MIDIpad, XY MIDIpad mini or MIDI Strip allowing them to control Kaoss Pad, Whammy and synth (or any other MIDI devices) simultaneously.
